Venetian Plaster

Certified and trained in the art of applying Fine Marmorino Venetian Plaster. All Venetian Plaster is imported from Firenze, Italy. Using 42% real marble dust combined with lime plaster and mixed to the color of the homeowner's choice, Venetian Plaster application results in a gorgeous, smooth and high-sheen marble finish that is alkaline based for mold resistance.

The pictures below are an example of the procedure in which to professionally convert a popcorn ceiling into a Venetian Plaster ceiling. This particular project involved a 200 square ft kitchen ceiling at a height of 12 ft. A platform had to be erected above the kitchen counters and a center island to allow easy access in order to accomplish the job within eight days.

4. After the staging is erected and the popcorn has been removed, all old can lighting was removed to be relocated later.

5. Framing and drywall is installed to replace the old lighting and the entire ceiling is refastened to the trusses. If time is not taken to refasten the ceiling, later problems will likely occur - referring to nail pops and cracked seams.

6. A 3 coat mud system is applied over all patched areas, flats, butt joints and screws. The next step is to apply a sealant which gives the surface a consistent foundation to avoid uneven drying and to protect against bleed through of the under coating. This is a critical step before applying the Nova primer for the Venetian Plaster.

7. The Nova primer is applied and dried. Now we are ready for the can lighting to be installed before we proceed with our first coat of Venetian Plaster.

8. The homeowners chose a luxurious, sunny yellow for their kitchen ceiling. This is the first coat of the Venetian Plaster applied to achieve a matte finish. One full day of drying is required.
